Life Is Not a Circus and You Don’t Have to Be a Clown • Angelica Horvatic

I have experienced this is true in a few of my intimate relationships where men were so afraid to feel any negative emotion that they would even hang up the phone or walk away in our conversation – when I wasn’t ‘myself’ ( happy &chirpy & making them laugh or making them feel good about themselves ).
So I would feel unloved, alone, misunderstood and abandoned – every time I wasn’t feeling happy.
For many years I was putting pressure on myself to be happy all the time and I would blame myself for ‘making my partner unhappy’
I have learned since to check on empathy and emotional maturity FIRST when it comes to ALL my relationships. I hope all of you who struggle with similar relationship dynamic can do the same – there ARE empathetic people out there who love and accept themselves and others.
BECAUSE LIFE IS NOT A CIRCUS AND YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A CLOWN.
Conquer your mountain! ?
