Description

Carol has held her own personal meditation practice for over 25 years now, and was originally part of a sangha attending the retreats & teachings of Sogyal Rinpoche (author of ‘The Tibetan Book of Living and Dying’) whilst living in West Cork, Ireland. On her return to the UK she trained with the British School of Meditation (BSoM) in Cheltenham, receiving a Diploma with distinction in meditation teacher training. This qualification is accredited by OCNSWR and is recognised nationally by an organisation regulated by the Government Agency Ofqual. She then graduated in the Level 4 Teacher Training programme with Mindfulness UK ‘Integrating Mindfulness & Compassion into Professional Practice.’ This qualification is certified by CPCAB (Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) and also trained to teach the Jon Kabat-Zinn 8 week Gold Star MBSR (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) Course. She has regular supervision sessions with a Bangor trained mindfulness supervisor, and adheres to the good practice guidelines set by the UK network for Mindfulness-based Teachers, as designed by Bangor University, Centre for Mindfulness Teachers. She is a registered Teacher for the Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) 8 week course with the Centre for Mindful Self-Compassion in San Diego, USA having trained with Kristin Neff  PhD (author of ‘Self-Compassion’) and Steven Hickman PhD (Director of Professional Training for the Center for Mindful Self-Compassion www.centerformsc.org)  and Bangor University, Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice. She has trained with Chris Cullen at the Oxford Mindfulness Centre to offer the renowned ‘Finding Peace in a Frantic World’ 8 week mindfulness course. She is a registered teacher with Be Mindful (www.bemindful.co.uk) She has attended the training with MHFA England to become a Mental Health First Aider. She regularly attends personal & silent retreats at Gaia House, Devon to continue and deepen her own practice. She has previously worked for two years as a Volunteer Mindfulness & Meditation Teacher for the Weldmar Hospicecare Trust. She has full Liability Insurance & holds a current First-aid Certificate & DBS Enhanced Certificate.
